Mixed reviews came out when Scarlett Johansson first was rumored to be cast as Major Motoko Kusunagi in the cyberpunk manga and anime series Ghost in The Shell, but you can't deny that she is certainty looking the part. Paramount Pictures and Dreamworks Pictures have announced that production on the Live-Action film is starting.
Based on the internationally-acclaimed anime and manga, Ghost in The Shell follows the Major, a cybernetically-enhanced leader of an elite counter-terrorist task force Section 9. Section 9's devotion to stopping the most dangerous and extreme criminals faces them off with an enemy who's goal is to stop out all robotic advancements in cyber technology by any means.
Many people are very bothered that the Major's role is not played by someone Asian, but it's understandable that they just want to put an iconic and familiar face in the film, and at least we can't complain about her hair right? We'll have to wait and see if the choice to start Scarlett in this role is the right one or not, when the movies releases on March 21st 2017.
