Don't Starve Together Leaves Early Access on April 21

A survival game leaving early access? Impossible, it cannot be done! Legends have been told but never has it been proven true! Proof is soon on it's way as the wildly popular game Don't Starve Together (a multiplayer version of the game suitably named Don't Starve) is going to be leaving early access on April 22nd.

Although DST has been in early access, unlike many other survival games, it has been constantly updated, including adding two expansions from the single player version including Reign of Giants and Caves. The most recent expansion, Shipwrecked, is not yet playable with your friends just yet, but if the pattern continues, soon enough that will be a possibility.

Klei Entertainment gives us a bit of information regarding this concern saying "we don’t have any concrete plans right now. Shipwrecked was built without DST in mind, and we’re going to need to evaluate how much is needed if we were going to do this. We would all love to go sailing with our friends!"

Now, with the trade off of knowing that we'll have a complete game, finely tuned with little bugs and plenty of content to be had, many people may worry that the development for the game has stopped. Well, fret not survivors, because Klei has confirmed that they "still have a lot more to develop" including "from longer play sessions, to better modding tools, to improving the state of PvP and exploring the lore—there’s always more to do than we have hands, but thankfully we’re here for the long haul, as long as you are, too."
