Announced on Adult Swim's Toonami: Pre-Flight show on Friday, some great news has come announcing that the Hunter x Hunter television anime will be run on the Toonami block premiering April 16th. Bang Zoom! Entertainment is producing the English dub and some great voice actors have been chosen for our heroes. Erica Mendez, known for her notable roles as Alladin (Magi: The Kingdom of Magic) and Sailor Uranus (Sailor Moon S) will be voicing the main protagonist, Gon Freecss. With experience voicing a young boy, I'm sure Erica will fill this role just fine, I'm excited to hear her.

Cristina Vee, who has played too many roles for me to point out her notable ones, pairs well with Erica, considering she played Morgiana (Magi: The Kingdom of Magic) AND Sailor Mars (Sailor Moon S) with her, and will be our hero's bffl and deadly assassin, Killua. I'm extremely excited to see the combination of Erica and Cristina in these roles, as they are one of my favorite pairs of friends in any series. Mathew Mercer, following the pattern of voicing a character in Magi: The Kingdom of Magic (Sinbad), will be playing Leorio, our aspiring medical hunter. I'm curious to see how he fairs playing out Leorio's many voices, jumping from cocky, to serious, to humorous in sometimes seconds. Once again, another voice actor from Magi: The Kingdom of Magic (Masrir), Keith Silverstein will be playing the role of a character who really brings out some color to Hunter x Hunter, Hisoka. Knowing the strong fan-base of Hisoka, Keith will be under a large microscope to play the role well, similar to how people view actors as The Joker (Batman).

Our last piece to the Magi (Dunya) puzzle, Erika Harlacher, will be voicing the calm, but deadly Kurapika. Out of all the voice actors in this bunch, the one I'm the most curious about is Erika, I don't exactly have much experience in hearing her playing male voices, though Kurapika always did seem to have a more femenine voice, so I could be thinking about it too much. This news, along with Togashi's news to return to the Hunter x Hunter manga series, is promising to us viewers who are hoping for an anime adaptation of The Dark Continent in Hunter x Hunter.
