The 16th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has announced that the popular volleyball anime will be getting a third television anime season based on the manga by Haruichi Furudate. The previous issue of the magazine had given us a hint of this important announcement, and us sports anime fans were hoping for exactly this news. Speaking as a person who loves anime, and hates sports, I cannot explain the joy I get from sports anime, whether it's realistic like Baby Steps, or crazy like Kuroko no Basuke. Haikyu!! has a good blend of realistic and over-the-top elements to keep the anime interesting, but also helps teach you about the sport and what the players are going through. Crunchyroll described the currently airing secone season:

After losing to Aoba Johsai at the Inter-High, the Karasuno High Volleyball Team is working their hardest toward the Spring Tournament. In the meantime, it's decided that they'll be heading to Tokyo for a training camp with Nekoma High and a handful of other powerful schools. They team is practicing hard, and not day during their run, Hinata and Kageyama get too excited and end up lost, and end up meeting someone rather unexpected...
