This is where "general" geeky news goes.
I.E. Disney has a new single camera real-time capture system. Most studios used real life as a refererance, and Disney was no different. Even back in the days of Snow White and Alice in Wonderland they would use real life actors to play out the scene to make it more natural, and give reference to what the character would be doing and how they would move, following by sketching out hundreds ot drawings matching that movement with the character's features.
Now with the new tech they can easily make CG movies with technology that does this:
